last week we were writing explanation and there were three topics to choose from and i chose to write about how rainbows are formed. I chose this because they are colorful and the other topics I already knew but I didn't on rainbows so I chose rainbows. I wrote a piece of explanation to show you how rainbows are formed here is my writing

How are rainbows formed?

Have you seen a rainbow? It is very colorful. You can not touch a rainbow, it is a light and you can only see it from a long distance. Read explanation to learn about how rainbows are formed.

A rainbow is made from light and a prism. If you shine your flashlight at a prism you get a rainbow. A rainbow is made when rain meets sunlight. The raindrops and sunlight act like prisms and flashlights. The sunlight goes inside the water droplet and it bends slightly and changes direction; this is called refraction. Note that no two people can see the exact same rainbow because each person is at a different angle and using different droplets of water. With that said, it is not possible to do it.

The colors on the rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Each color has a different wavelength and each one determines where the color should be. The color red has the longest wavelength because it is on the top of the rainbow, the colour violet has the shortest wavelength and that’s why it’s on the bottom.

Did you know that rainbows are actually full circles? Rainbows look like arches since we are seeing them from the ground. It seems like an arc but from the sight of a tall view such as a tall building, mountain or airplane but if you want to see a full circle rainbow, do not forget that you need to have sunlight and rain at the same time.

To make rainbows, you need sunlight and rain at the same time. Therefore, rainbows are rare and are colorful. They are very cool and stuff.

This week we have been reading a 2 page book that has instruction on how to make a decoration for light windows. We have to make a summary on the book and draw some pictures from this website called art hub for kids. I chose the book because I like to read instruction books.

This week we have been reading about a book about sharks with lots of shark facts and we have to make a venn diagram comparing two animals that we have read about and i chose giraffes and sharks to compare in my venn diagram and we have to make a quiz about sharks. We have to make a video showing some questions and answers about pandas, make an animal enclosure for a panda and identify three most important things for a panda and why you think it is important for it. This week walt use prior knowledge and context to predict what will happen next. I chose a book about a girl who signs her lazy dad up for a football and her dad is not happy. We have to make a comic strip predict what will happen next. 

Writing about a monster

Hello

We have been reading a book called where the wild things are and we have to make up our own monsters using 4 animals and combining them together to make our monster then draw it. We have to also write a character description about the monster that we made.

The Talmingo looks like a monster which has a giant shell turtle. It has the pink head of a flamingo and the tall legs of a tall flamingo as well. The Talmingo monster has a very long tail from a monkey and wings from a sparrow bird.

It has a shell so it can protect itself from victims that could harm it by hiding inside it and it can also fly up in the sky because it has the wings of a sparrow. The monkey tail can grab items and the flamingo legs make it tall so it can reach stuff that is very tall and cannot be reached easily.

One of the personalities of the Tlamingo monster is very protective of itself because it has a giant shell to hide into and one of the other personalities is scared because it always hides in its shell and protects itself from victims that can attack the Tlamingo and kill it.

It existed from a smart monkey who knows how to use pots and cooking tools, took a flamingo, a sparrow and a turtle then cooked it and ate them up. Then all the parts grew and that is how the Tlamingo monster existed.

This week we have been reading book and I chose a book about a guy who makes a beach in his house when his parents are not at home and the babysitter is a bad babysitter and the babysitter doesn't care about what the guy does in the house and we are learning to monitor our reading to ensure we have a full and deep understanding about what we read and we have to draw a picture of a scene in the story and you can do it on paper or google drawing and I chose to do it on google drawing
